Here are your hillwalking club committee members as elected by you, our loyal Hillwalkers. The club is run entirely by these current students.

Hello there! I'm Serena and I'm your club president for this year.
As president, I’m the chair of the committee who leads and manages all aspects of club activities. In simpler terms, my key responsibility is to oversee the fantastic work our day walk, away trip and social secretaries do and ensure that all club operation runs smoothly. I also act as the face of the club when liaising with retailers and organisations, as well as organising collaborative events with other societies.
You, our club members, are at the heart of everything we do and it’s my job to maintain the legacy and values of what the club is all about! I work closely with the committee to bring you all new and exciting walks, trips and socials, alongside skills-based sessions and competitions… watch this space! I am so proud to be a member of such a wonderful club and I aim to lead a committee which will provide you all with valuable skills, friendships and memorable experiences!
Can’t wait to see you all around!
Hi, I'm Eilish and I'm the Vice President/Secretary. My role in the club is to handle the administration for the club such as emails and the website and assist Serena as President.
I attend a fair amount of day walks and socials so if you see me feel free to say hi :)
Hi I'm Izzy. I'm 21 and im a second year chemistry student. I'm the treasurer so I'm the one who handles all the money.
Hi, I'm Thomas, one of the two Day walk secretaries for this year. My role in the club is to organise and run (along with my partner in crime Harry) the Saturday walks to places around Southampton. Basically I try not to get people lost and try to find ways to avoid bogs. If I'm not walking, I'm probably cycling! I'm easily recognisable thanks to my 'unique' walking stick, Moppy. To get on my good side, you should try and bring biscuits. Actually, that probably works for everyone in the committee! But don't try and take my map away from me. Bad idea. Hopefully I'll see you around somewhere, if not at a day walk then at a social or away trip. I'm always on the look out for new and interesting walks too - I'd love to get your suggestions.
Hello to all fellow walking enthusiasts! My name is Jenny, a Mechatronic engineer to be, and I am one half of the Away Trip Secs this year. Our job is to whisk you away from studying for a weekend and take you to Britain's most treasured parts of the country. Feel free to contact Matt and I about any queries you have, we also hold pay in sessions for each trip so don't be afraid to drop by if you want to speak to us face to face. Elsewhere, you can spot me with my red camera and slight obsession with green (great combo I know) on day walks. One tip I would give you would be to be quick to sign up to away trips; the places literally disappear faster than free pizza!
Hi everyone! We are your social secretaries for 2018/2019. We'll be organising all the social events for the next academic year. Our socials will include a mix of drinks and non-drinking activities. They'll be anything bar crawls, to ice cream at sprinkles! We are really open to suggestions so please drop either of us a message if you have any ideas!
That's great news! The committee is elected in the Spring term of every year at our Annual General Meeting, so come along to that and stand for your desired position! Any current Southampton student can stand for any position (although it is preferable if the candidate(s) for President have been on the SUHC committee previously).
Details of how to stand for committee positions will be posted on our Facebook page at least a month in advance. You don't need experience, all you need is the enthusiasm! Full on-the-job training is provided covering every aspect of your role.

...Before 2011 the records get a little fuzzy. Sorry 'bout that!
